Admission and Application
When should applicants expect an admissions decision?
Within 6 weeks of your application submission.
How are students notified about their admission decision?
We will send you an email notifying you of your admission decision. To download the decision letter, you will need to log into your admission portal and go to the Status page.
What documents are required for my application?
You must complete an online application and upload your unofficial transcript(s), resume, and a one-page personal essay.
Do I need an official transcript for the application?
No, you only need to upload your unofficial copy of your transcript into the online application. If you are admitted, you will be prompted to provide your official transcript which must be submitted directly from your previous institution(s). (Please note that if you are accepted and if you have degrees from UConn, you will not need to submit your UConn official transcripts as we have access to them; you will, however, be required to submit any non-UConn transcripts.)
What semester can I apply for?
Fall semester only.

Is there a GPA requirement?
The University of Connecticut Graduate School requirement for admission to pursue an MSSRIB is a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 for your undergraduate degree or for your last two years of your undergraduate program.
Is there a minimum work experience requirement?
There is no work experience required.
Is the GMAT/GRE required?
The GMAT and/or GRE is not required for admission.
Can I save my application and finish it later?
Yes. You will be prompted to create login credentials to access the application and complete it at your own pace. Please be sure your completed application is submitted before the deadline.

Are there any prerequisite courses for the MS in SRIB?
No
How many courses are required to graduate?
The master’s degree requires 10 courses, 3 required business fundamentals, 4 required core courses, and 3 elective courses.
Is there a maximum time limit to complete the program?
Yes, you must complete the degree within six years.
How long does it take to complete the degree?
Although the University of Connecticut Graduate School allows up to 6 years to complete the degree, students can complete the program in the fast-track option in 1 year (requiring full-time engagement) or in the flexible pace option which can be completed in as little as 2 years.
How will courses be offered in the MS in SRIB program
MKTG 5100 requires attendance in person in Hartford, CT for two weekends in September. Students will be able to choose to take other courses online or in-person format in Hartford, CT.
Cost and Fees
Is there an application fee?
Yes, there is a $75 non-refundable application fee required when you submit your application.
Is there a deposit required to hold my admission to the program?
Students accepted to the program who want to confirm their intention to enroll must pay a non-refundable deposit of $500.
What is the cost of the MS in SRIB program?
Each course in the MS in SRIB program is 3 credits. With a $1150 per credit fee, each course costs $3,450. To complete the MS in SRIB degree, you have to complete 10 courses (30 credits), so the total cost of the degree is $34,500.
Is there a cost differential between in-state and out-of-state students?
No, there is not.
Does tuition need to be paid in full upfront?
This program is set up on a fee-per-credit basis. As such, you pay each semester based on the number of credits you are registered for in that semester. Payment plans are available for the fall and spring semesters. Learn more about payment plan options.
Is financial aid or scholarships available?
We do not offer scholarships for new students. However, once you are a current student in the program, you will be notified of any scholarships that may become available to apply for the individual awards. Financial assistance may be available to matriculated students in a degree-seeking program. How many credits do I need to complete before applying to the Accelerated MS in SRIB program?
UConn Undergraduate students can apply after completing 54 credits.
Which semester can I apply to the Accelerated MS in SRIB program?
Any semester.
How are students notified about their admission decisions?
A communication will be sent to your UConn email letting you know a decision has been made on your application.
Is there a fee to apply to the Accelerated MS in SRIB program?
There is no fee to apply to the pre-graduate Accelerated MS in SRIB application.

Candidates must demonstrate strong academic performance at UConn, interest in the program through a reflective essay, and with relevant social responsibility and impact experiences detailed on their resume.

What is the minimum GPA to apply to Accelerated MS in SRIB?
You need a 3.0 GPA to apply as a current UConn undergraduate student.
How many graduate courses will I take as an undergraduate student in the Accelerated MS in SRIB program?
If admitted to the Accelerated MS in SRIB, you will have access to a maximum of 12 5000-level credits that will count toward both your undergraduate and MS in SRIB degree.
Cost and Fees
What is the cost of attendance in the Accelerated MS in SRIB program?
UConn students enrolled in the Accelerated MS in SRIB program will face no additional cost during junior or senior year beyond their current undergraduate cost of tuition. If you take the maximum of 12 5000-level credits allowed to count to both your undergraduate and graduate degree, you will save 40% on the 30-credit MS in SRIB degree.
